Not our year.

Well, for LSU fans, this is not our year. I didn't have high expectations, but to lose the Georgia and Florida game so badly stinks. Then to lose to 'Bama in Baton Rouge. At least we were in the game at the end. Too many turnovers, dropped passes, and NO pressure on the QB. Oh well, more help is coming and I keep telling myself this is the SEC!
My ASU Sun Devils won.
Louisiana Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns lost.
Our Cardinals don't play till Monday night!

Election 2008

I'm sure that the blogging world will be filled with election thoughts the day after. I am no different as I have my thoughts post election as well. This was the first election that our kids actively followed. It was so much fun to watch the election evening with the two of the three of them (our youngest is 5) asking questions about the process. They listened to each of the presidential candidates speeches. They colored maps. They witnessed history on multiple levels. Soon, the real work will begin and it is my hope that their future is strengthened. Regardless of last nights outcome, it was great to see Americans voting in record numbers. I am glad it is over.

Bear Bryant

This is the image of college football I remember most as a kid. Bear Bryant on the sidelines during LSU Alabama games. I don't know Alabama's record vs LSU during the years I started watching/listening LSU football, but I do recall quite a few of Bear Bryant led victories vs. the Tigers. I was glad when he retired.

Broncos Quarterback situation

Jay Cutler's record as QB of the Broncos since he has taken over for Jake Plummer is 13-16.
Jake Plummer's record as starting QB with the Broncos including playoffs is 40-18. Odd decision.

NFL Sunday

We didn't get to watch the game, but the Cardinals won their game vs the Rams. Up next, a Monday night matchup vs the 49ers. Cards are leading their division, imagine that.
The Saints were off this week. They play the Falcons next.

First Driving Lessons

I took my oldest son, who is 13, out for his first driving lesson. I hadn't told him in advance that he was going to drive that morning. I thought that it would make him nervous and not want to go.

So instead of heading to the NFL store to browse, we went to a large parking lot and drove around. It was a blast! I could see that he was nervously excited when he started out, but he did it. He did great for his first time driving. He made his father proud. We stopped when he was ready and off we went. Someday, he'll be in my seat but who knows what they will be driving when that time comes.

Now, only two more to experience their first time driving, but that is a few years away.

Where's George?

I'm still entering bills on Where's George. Not as many as I used to, but I still enjoy seeing the bills travel.
